Hi – could anyone help by advising of approx cost of transporting a 70ft narrowboat from staffordshire to Gloucester by road and recommend any good hauliers – boat movers. Do hauliers cost by time/distance?? – thanks for any help.
Hi Harlteyhare. Welcome to the forum. The price that the haulier charges isn’t just based on the time/distance. I had to have my 62′ boat transported by road last November when I had a new top put on it. The distance was only eight miles between where I moor and where they did the work but the cost was over £500 each way. Some of the cost was due to the fact that they not only needed a lorry to transport it but also a crane at the other end to lift it on and off.
The company which does a great deal of the narrowboat transportation in this area is A B Tuckey. They’ve been doing it for many years.
