Hi all, i have been looking into getting a  live aboard boat for  about 18 months  now and have seen some  lovely  boats ( anyone  else at crick the other day ? ) and i have  read  loads  from this  forum and  spoken to many people  about the pros  and  cons, a  guy where i work lives on one and he  loves it, im leaning  towards a wide  beam  one  tho purely  because i have  3  kids  who would   come  and  stay with me twice a week  (  yes  im a divorced  guy  ). So when the  house  is  sold i look  forward to meeting  many like  minded  souls  out and  about 🙂

Tim 🙂

Hi Dempoe and welcome to the forum.

Yes, there’s plenty more space on a widebeam but don’t forget you can’t take iit on the canals with narrow locks. One that you would miss is the South Oxford between Napton and Oxford. It’s a beautiful part of the country.
