Hi there! Same old story for me. Divorced, long ago, getting made redundant early next year after 32 years loyal service! But I am lucky, I will come away with a cash lump sum to play with. Play is a little frivolous, I will need somewhere to live. I like the outdoor life, I have been on narrowboat hols before. Not even close to living on one I admit, but I know space is a thing in short supply. I have been looking at 2nd hand boats, and prices, as you do. I have also asked a few Q’s of boatyards, as to what would it cost? to build one. 55 feet ish. I’m not looking for answers yet, just letting you know I’m out there, here? Do I need luck?
Sorry for the tardy reply Colin. I’ll try harder next time.
Try to resist the idea of buying a brand new boat until you’ve tried living on a second hand one for a while. You’ll discover your likes and dislikes as you go and you won’t have paid a fortune for a brand new boat with features and fitting you wanted in theory but not in practice.
