Hi all,
Very early days for us, but we are looking forward to learning as much as we can prior to, hopefully, getting on the water a lot more in the future.
I’m Paul and my, sometimes, better half is Celina. We are both looking at a different pace of life in 2/3 years when our kids leave uni. Both love being outdoors and I’ve spent most of my life mucking around on the water one way or another.
We have spent a weekend on the Kennet and Avon going from Bradford to Bath and back and loved it. Planning on trying to get back when we can and have booked a discovery day with Paul. We are open to whatever advice people can give and I’ve done a lot of reading, but it doesn’t beat trying to talk to people and I’m bright enough to know I don’t know a lot about this.
At the moment we are thinking of a boat share for a while to get as much experience as we can while the girls are away and then buying a boat of our own, which we will be working from and CC.
Hopefully we will get a lot from the forum and, eventually, manage to put as much in as we take out.
Paul
Welcome to the canals, Paul. Buying a share is a great introduction to boating, without it costing an arm and a leg. And it allows you to sample the life in all seasons
Living retirement in the slow lane.
20 years hiring, 6 years of shared ownership and a Continuous Cruiser since 2007 but still learning!
