Galgate Marina

A British Waterways Marina

Galgate is a rural village close to the south of Lancaster. Just off the A6, and near Junction 33 of the M6, the marina has excellent access to the motorway network and to public transport. It is within easy reach of Lancaster’s many tourist and leisure attractions as well as the surrounding countryside and coastal areas.

With the opening of the Millennium Ribble Link, Galgate and the Lancaster Canal have access to the rest of England’s inland waterway network.

Paul Smith

After six and a half years living on a narrowboat on England's inland waterways, Paul and his wife Cynthia wandered Europe by motorhome during the winter, and on the Dutch and French waterways in the warmer months on their 35' Dutch motor cruiser. However, the pull of England's muddy ditches proved too much for them. Now they're back where they belong, constantly stuck in mud in a beautiful traditional narrowboat.
