I'm not aware of a naming ceremony as such, but I believe that there is a superstition that it's bad luck to name a boat when it's in the water. Apart from that, just decide on a name and let BW – sorry, let C & RT know the name when you register the boat.

Try not to take your narrowboat anywhere near the sea. They don't perform too well on the ocean wave!
